Candidate Requirements
Matric is a minimum entry requirement
Min 3 years working experience as a VIP Wage Clerk /Administrator
Processing wages on VIP or similar Payroll package
Experience with a time and attendance system
Experience and knowledge of MEIBC and Main Agreement
Must be highly meticulous and methodical
Valid driver’s Licence
No bad debt
No criminal record

Duties
Collect, compile and enter payroll data using VIP Payroll software
Review and verify source documents
Calculate and post and reconcile payroll deductions
Process payrolls by established deadlines
Investigate and correct payroll discrepancies and errors
Manage attendance and overtime
Process UIF returns and Bargaining Council returns online
Calculation & preparation of monthly statutory returns PAYE, UIF, SDL (EMP 201)
Submit monthly provident fund schedules
Printing and distributing payslips
Update payroll records by recording adhoc changes
Process new employees, terminations, transfers and promotions
Prepare and print payroll reports monthly and as required
Address employee’s pay-related queries and concerns and provide accurate payroll information
Develop, manage and maintain comprehensive payroll records
Ensure compliance with applicable labour and Bargaining Council legislation
Preparing employment contracts
Filing and archiving

Required Skills
Good working knowledge of payroll software, preferably VIP Payroll
Computer literate (Outlook, MS Word and Excel)
Strong numerical skills
Good communication skills – verbal and written
Attention to detail
Strict confidentiality
Ability to work in a stressful environment with stringent deadline
