Job Title: Data Scientist
Location: Johannesburg
Reports to: Head of Data Science and Analytics

Job Summary:
To plan, organize and execute all data science related work for the Group company. The incumbent works with company’s data management, executes data strategy and works within the parameters of best practice standards for data analytics and business intelligence.

Minimum Requirements:
B Hons (Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics or Data Science).
3-5 years’ relevant experience.
Healthcare experience is non-negotiable.
Knowledge of Clinical coding including ICD-10 and CPT coding.
Knowledge of Material coding including NAPPI codes, ATC codes.
Knowledge of Modelling concepts including GLMs, Machine learning models.

Minimum work experience:
Work with large datasets on data extraction, cleaning, extrapolation, analysis and presentation.
Formulate data science solutions to business problems by collaborating with relevant business leads.
Design and implement algorithms to solve a wide array of problems with analytics and statistical approaches built on high dimensional datasets.
Write reusable and production ready code.
Plan, design, develop, optimise and assist with deployment and enhancement of predictive models.
Provide input and expertise in the development of advanced analytics strategy for the Group companies.
