SHEQ Manager
Job Summary:
The SHEQ Manager is responsible for safety, health environment, and the quality assurance side of the business. He/she coordinates and ensures all certifications and accreditations are retained and ensure work systems are in place to ensure that the products or services of the company meet the highest quality standards and that the working conditions of the company are favourable and safe. The SHEQ Manager is responsible for the overall quality of all products produced within the factory which includes all quality policies, processes & procedures. This includes overall responsibility of the creating, maintaining or updating, documenting, and implementation of all quality operating procedures.
Minimum Qualifications and experience:
Proven work experience as a SHEQ Manager.
BSc or bachelor’s degree in a relevant field with all the necessary courses or training for all aspects required for a SHEQ Manager.
Must have knowledge and experience of ISO 9001:2015, ISO 14001:2015, FSSC 22000, HACCP.
Must have sound knowledge and experience in the implementation of National HSE legislation and best practices
Knowledge of Environmental Management Systems
Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
Experience working in a manufacturing environment with experience in food safety.
Excellent knowledge of health, safety and environmental legislation related to industry.
Strong problem-solving ability and attention to detail.
Excellent project management skills.
In-depth knowledge of South African labour legislation, OHSA and ASIB.
Strong interpersonal and leadership skills with the ability to influence and guide at all levels.
Highly organised, with excellent time management and multitasking abilities.
Resilient and able to perform under pressure in a fast-paced, high-demand environment.
High degree of professionalism.
Ability to work effectively in a team and independently.
Effective interpersonal and written communication skills.

Strong knowledge of health and safety regulations, as well as environmental laws and guidelines.
Minimum Job Requirements:
Maintain and retain all certifications and accreditations necessary for the industries in which we operate. This includes ISO 9001:2015, ISO 14001:2015, FSSC 22000.
Work towards the attainment of new quality accreditations as necessary.
Conduct and keep all risk assessment updated and relevant.
Assist in the Company’s preparation for annual H&S audits and Quality Assurance.
Investigate accidents and ensure all documentation is completed and documented as necessary.
Advises line managers and assists with the implementation of new or existing SHEQ-related legislation, rules and Company standards to include fire prevention, health and safety awareness training, site inspections, etc.
Create and maintain all quality related policies, processes & procedures.
Implement and ensure successful carrying out of all quality related policies, processes & procedures.
Manage and ensure the effective functioning of the Quality department to support production and required production schedules to comply with Customer requirements and expectations and national and international quality related requirements.
Ensure all products leaving the factory comply with the necessary quality requirements.
Involved with all production related trials to ensure necessary compliance with quality requirements and standards.
Retain all current quality accreditations and work towards the attainment of new quality accreditations.
Drive Process Continuous Improvement within the plant.
Ensure successful functioning of the quality department.
Maintain all quality related files and documentation.
Unpack all quality deficiencies identified (internally and externally) and implement preventative measures and the necessary changes.
Own the internal and external NCA process with customers and suppliers.
Ensure all customer specific quality requirements are adhered to and the relevant files and documentation are updated and retained as necessary.
Take ownership and accountability for Customer service.
Ensure only successful quality audits are achieved.
Ensure all staff and departments are trained as necessary to achieve necessary quality standards.
Keep abreast with all changes to customer product requirements and the necessary quality implications.
Liaison with HR Dept for initiating and coordinating training plan and updating information for audit requirements
All reporting internally to management and externally to customers.
Responsible for the management of the Quality and SHEQ related employees.
